FAQ’s

To create the most powerful, eco-friendly cleaning products.

Of course! Every decision that we make is carefully assessed and evaluated to ensure we leave no trace on the world. We do this by:

Assessing and evaluating all of the ingredients we put in our formulations to ensure they are safe for people and the environment.

Conduct independent external testing based on OECD standards of biodegradability and non-toxicity of our products.

Working with likeminded people and organisations to promote the awareness of the environment.

Constantly seeking new ways to make our products more sustainable without compromising on performance or efficiency.

Our products are made in the heart of Yorkshire and we source everything as locally as possible to ensure we leave no trace on the world.

Absolutely not! We don’t believe in animal testing and never will.

We are always excited to hear from interesting and fun people who are keen to join the green cleaning revolution. Please drop us a line with your CV to hello@sleekcleancare.co.uk for more information on any current vacancies.

If you would like to become a stockist then drop us a line at hello@sleekcleancare.co.uk and one of our team members will get back to with more information on how to stock our products.

Yes, the formula is the same in each, but we simply label them with specific instructions for each cleaner for the separate markets, giving you the best cleaning power possible.

The pH of our cleaning products is determined by the type of stain it has been formulated to remove. Whilst our products are mainly pH neutral a handful of them are either alkaline or acidic to ensure their performance isn’t compromised. See below for a breakdown of why we formulate our cleaning products to align with the following pH levels:

Acidic (pH 0 to 7) – Used to remove tough stains, for example, our Hard Water Spot Remover is highly acidic so that it can effectively remove hard water spots (a mixture of alkaline components). In order to make this product highly acidic, we use naturally derived and organic acids as a pH optimiser such as Citric Acid.

Neutral (pH 7) – Used on delicate surfaces, for example, our Gel Hand Soap has a neutral pH to leave your hands feeling soft and loved.

Alkaline (pH 7 to 14) – Used to remove FOG (Fat, Oil and Grease), for example, our Bike Degreaser has a high pH level to effectively remove all of the oil and grease around the chain. This saponifies the oil and grease on the chain which in turn converts it into soap and provides a SLEEK finish.

We summarise all the ingredients in our products on our chemistry page which can be found by clicking here.

Alternatively, if you would like information on ingredient chemical name, why we use it in our products and a summary of where it is derived from and its impact on the environment click here for a downloadable PDF.

Eventually yes! All of our products have at least a two year shelf life before you will begin to see a change in their colour and/or fragrance

All of our fragrances are blends of both essential oils from natural sources and complementary components that are man-made. They are a reminder of nature and do not pose a threat to people or the environment.

We think cleaning should be fun, not boring. That’s why we decided to use dyes in all of our products and it helps you with our step process to ensure you are using the correct product. We have chosen to use polymeric colourants in our formulations to give each product a vivid colour as they have excellent eco-friendly credentials including the EPA’s Design for the Environment (now Safer Choice) and have been verified by independent agencies like Green Seal.

No! We believe Ammonia is a dirty ingredient and that’s why it can’t be found in any of our products.

Yes! Whilst we offer 2.5L, 5L and 25L UN Approved containers on our website, we also offer 200L and 1000L industrial size containers through trade. If you are interested then please drop us a line at hello@sleekcleancare.co.uk and it will be forwarded to the appropriate person to be dealt with.

All of our bottles are recyclable, this was very important to us when we started this business as we’re not fans of landfill. Before you do recycle though, did you know you can reuse all of our bottles by refilling them with a range of our refill options found here?

Short answer: Our refill pouches are recyclable in many countries, but not in the current UK recycling system.

Long answer (why we chose to use refill pouches): With all of our packaging we have assessed and evaluated how we can lessen our environmental impact as much as possible. Since the packaging weight of the refill pouch is far less than that of a standard bottle, the resources used to produce, transport and use the pouch are also dramatically less. The refill pouch has therefore 1/7th the impact of an equivalent volume PET bottle (even if the bottle was recycled 82% of the time, which is way above the UK recycling rates).
